Welcome to Lonergan Music Academy. Nestled beneath the beautiful backdrop of Slieve Gullion, we offer one-to-one lessons in piano, violin, voice, and Music Theory as well as tutoring for CCEA and Edexcel GCSE Music and AS/A Level Music. We provide bespoke church music for Weddings and Funerals also.

Mairéad Lonergan

Mairéad joins LMA as a music teacher with plenty of teaching experience, in Northern Ireland, the UK and further afield, in the United Arab Emirates and Romania. From early childhood, Mairéad says music has been central to her life learning first to play the piano and violin, and thereafter, taking up classical singing lessons. Mairéad read Music at Maynooth University, graduating with a 1st Class Honours degree in Musicology and Performance. She then pursued a PGCE in Secondary Music in Edge Hill, followed by a Master's in Education. Mairéad has almost ten years of teaching experience, preparing students for their GCSE and A-Level Music exams.

Mairéad is a confident performer and singer with a wealth of performance experiences such as performing in Dubai Opera, Belfast Waterfront Hall, Ulster Hall, and Carnegie Hall to name but a few. In her spare time, Mairéad enjoys playing Irish Traditional Music on guitar and banjo and developing her skills on the ukulele too. She also enjoys watching live performances, and performing both solo and choral music herself, and has developed a passionate interest in composing and songwriting. When not inspiring young minds, Mairéad enjoys going for long walks, exploring the countryside, and travelling. She likes to play Gaelic football and golf in her spare time

Aislinn Lonergan
